Latest Update from Justine, Josh's Mum:
Josh has been doing lots of races, with some good results. He came first at the Birchwood bash on Saturday and the Top Barn cross country series. He has been using the cyclo cross bike he bought with his grant for road training and entered the Lichfield closed circuit road series, ending up in the top 10. This was a great achievement as the riders from Lichfield all have training 3 times a week. This was the first time Josh had done any road racing, so he had to learn as he went along. He notched up the fastest time in the Church Street hill climb competition, beating every category (including the adults) on a very wet Sunday in June. He has raced in the Midlands XC series and has done very well accumulating a very good points tally. There is still one round go in this series. Josh is also hoping to ride a national race prior to the end of the season to get some experience before next season.
Because of your help he is now also looking forward to the cyclo cross season over the winter.
His main focus at the moment is saving up his money for a proper XC race bike for next season. When he started cycling I thought it would be a relatively cheap sport. How wrong was I? Not only that, I’m sure he is sleeping in a grow bag. He seems to grow an inch every night!
