The Joanna Brown Trust is delighted to be able to support some exceptional young athletes. With our support we hope they can continue to improve and excel in their respective sports.
 
Maddy Badcott, a 17 year old rower, received £2,000 (funded jointly by The JB Trust and Sport Islington).

Ashley Helsby , a 21 year old 100m hurdler from Rainhill in Merseyside, received £500 through our partnership with Sports Aid. Ashely is aiming to continue to represent GB in the future. Learn more about Ashley by clicking here.

Aasha Kimpton, an 12 year old gymnast from Hackney, London, was the first recipient of our £2,000 award in partnership with Sport Islington, The Joanna Brown Trust award for sporting excellence. Aasha has now been selected for the GB Start Squad. The Trust has decided to continue its support of Aasha with a third award of £500 for 2012. Learn more about Aasha by clicking here.
 
George Durden has been awarded the 2010 Joanna Brown Trust award for sporting excellence (£2,000). George is a 17 year old kayaker from Islington and is ranked in the top 10 for his age group in the county. The JB Trust has decided to continue its support of George with a second award of £500 for 2012. Learn more about George by clicking here.
  
James Gibson, a 20 year old swimmer from Manchester, received £500 through our partnership with Sports Aid. James is aiming to make the Team GB Squad for 2012. Learn more about James by clicking here.
 
Beth Cobden, a netballer from Stafford, also received £500 from The JB Trust via our Sports Aid partnership. Beth was selected to play for the England U19‟s at the European Championships in March 2010. Learn more about Beth by clicking here.
